Friend Makin' Monday

Friend Makin’ Mondays

1.  What has been your happiest moment in 2014 so far?  Hmm…I guess it’s more a moment of triumph than happiness, but triumph begets happiness, right?  So, after midnight hit on new years eve/day, I vowed no more junk or “cheat” food until after I had reached 178 lbs on the scale.  About an hour after midnight (yes I was at work…woot!  Overtime!) a coworker gave me a small Reece’s peanut butter cup.  I actually didn’t want it.  It wasn’t hard for me to place it in a drawer in my desk and then offer it to the next coworker that happened by.

2. Share the last compliment you received.  This might be a little sad, but I tend to forget compliments unless they’re just plain unique.  Horrible memory, you know?

3.  What is one thing that you plan to accomplish in the next week? I hope to show at least another 1 lb loss on the scale when I weigh in on Sunday.  Also, I want to get in at least 4 quality workouts this week, 3 running, 1 trainer.  I’ve already got 1 running and the trainer workout done, so halfway there!

4.  What is your favorite TV show currently on air? It just wrapped up, but I think I would have to say Breaking the Faith…it was great because, unlike Breaking Amish, they didn’t them in all these situations that they knew would turn explosive and start drama.  They really just sat back and filmed them as they were discovering this whole new world in going from the FLDS to the “gentile” world.  It was great to be a part of that part of their lives.

5.  If you could go anywhere in the world free for the next two weeks, where you go?  I would say Ireland, but it’s effing cold there right now, so maybe Thailand to see Ankor Wat, etc or India.

6.  Describe a significant event in your life that caused you to change your values system.  I guess the last relationship I was in…he screwed me over so badly emotionally and mentally that I will never be the same again or look at relationships in the same way.  But, as a result, I value myself and my life more.  Because of him, I got fat…and because of that, I went through the process to get unfat and through that process I have gained more confidence than I ever had before in my entire life.  I’m happier than I’ve ever been as well.

7.  What made you decide to live where you currently live?  If you mean by the area (city/state) then it was when I was discharged from the Army I was “engaged” to a guy at Ft. Hood…who subsequently showed his true colors after I had spent all my money moving down here and left me high and dry.  If you mean by my current abode, it was because I didn’t have a vehicle at the time and a coworker lived in these apartments and said I could ride to and from work with him until I got a vehicle.

8.  What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about GOD? I think it’s all well and good if you believe in that sort of thing.  But, it’s not for me.

9.  If you could have a long conversation with someone famous (and alive now) who would you choose?  Morgan Freeman…he’s amazing on so many levels

10.  List three things that you’re thankful for today.
• my ability to exercise (financial and physical)
• my friends and family
• my job, my car, and a place to live
