Well,
it’s the exact same as it was last week AND the week before. At least
it’s maintaining and not a gain. I’m cool with that.
Alright,
so I’m sure you noticed, but this recap is a day early. Why? This is
the last day of the Biggest Loser Challenge I have been participating in
the last 90 days.
So, as you see, my weight from today is posted above. Here’s my
starting weight for the challenge:
I have lost a total of 10.8 lbs and 5.67% of my total body weight. My measurements before and after are as follows:

Overall,
I feel really good about this challenge. I didn’t win, but I’m
completely okay with that. I still lost weight and, more importantly, I
made new friends. And,
while I didn’t lose a whole lot of weight, just 10.8 lbs in 90 days,
what I DID lose was 9.25 inches, 4 of those in the last 30 days with
only a 1.4 lb loss to show. That shows you that I’m building muscle and
dropping fat. And that, my friends, makes me
one happy camper. I’ll take proven muscle gain/fat loss over anything
the scale says, any day.

On to this week in exercise!
•
Saturday: a migraine happened and even after medicine for it, I still
felt horrible, so I never made it to the gym. the migraine just wore me
out so I just went to bed.

Sunday: because of the migraine I slept way too late and then only had
time to do my cooking and, even then, I only had time to get the 2 main
things done. I had planned
to cook up 2 recipes for snacks but didn’t have time to do them. I had
planned on a 10 mile run, but that didn’t happen and then, when I
realized that wouldn’t be happening, I hoped to make it to the gym, but
that too became apparent as the night wore on
and I knew I was still hours away from being done cooking that the gym
wouldn’t happen either.

Monday: I worked overtime on the morning shift, so I had planned to hit
the rowing machine a couple times, however I was completely unmotivated
and didn’t do it even once.
Ugh.

Tuesday: I was so tired due to horrible sleep habits over the previous
couple days that when my 8am wake up time arrived so that I could do a
10 mile run came around, I
reset the alarm for 9:30am and figured I could still get the 10K run I
wanted to do this week done…so that’s what I did. I was dreading the
run. I didn’t want to do it. But I made myself do it and you know
what? I did NOT regret it and I enjoyed it completely.
But, after 3 days of absolutely no exercise, I was demotivated and
didn’t want to do anything. But I had a great run, and I knew I would, I
just had to force myself to get dressed and hit the pavement.

Wednesday: ran 10 miles this day. This was a not fun run either and
that upsets me because I haven’t ever had very many of them. I could
probably count the number of
not fun runs on one hand and have fingers left over. Seriously. 95%
plus of the time not only is my run fun, but I thoroughly enjoy it and
LOVE it! So, when I have one of these not fun runs it really gets to
me. I woke up and I just was not “feeling” a
run, but I got dressed and headed out the door anyway. I got in front
of the apartment complex office and hit the power button on my Garmin
and selected the Running on my Polar so they could both find satellite
while I did my warm ups. The Polar found signal,
however the Garmin stayed on the start screen. What the heck? By the
time I walked back to my apartment to google how to do a reset on it, it
had decided to find signal, so off I went to run. I figured shortly
after I started running I would feel better
and that I would feel the run. Nope. Didn’t happen. I took my double
espresso with caffeine Clif Shot at mile 6. Started feeling that by
mile 7 and started getting into a nice groove. Then, at mile 7.5, my
music died. Ugh. So much for a groove. But,
I didn’t give up. I kept telling myself “any run is better than no
run” and made that my mantra for this run. It worked. I made it home
and I finished the run with a decent average pace of 11:06 per mile.
• Thursday: worked overtime on the night shift the night before, so I just took this day as a rest day.
•
Friday (today): ran me a half marathon today! It was the final virtual
race in the Keep It Real virtual race series that included a 5K, 10K,
half marathon and a full marathon.
It benefits the Catch a Lift Fund that provides gym memberships and
fitness equipment for wounded/disabled veterans. The run went pretty
good and I was very happy that it wasn’t like my 10 mile slog of a run
on Wednesday. Mile 13 was a bit slow because my
legs got suddenly tired, but the other miles were decently paced enough
that it didn’t matter, I still had an 11:01 overall average.
I’m hoping with next week I can actually hit the gym a couple times since that didn’t happen at all this week.
