Okay,
here’s day #2. I started off lazy and not wanting to get out of
bed. So, I stayed there until about 8:45am. I got up and got my
coffee started. I knew I wanted to make it to the gym for my strength
training workout (this week is the 2x4’s) and I knew I wanted to run outside
before I did my workout inside. I wanted to leave my apartment to head to
the gym around 9:45, so when the time was creeping up on 9:30, I popped my
waffles in the toaster and mixed up my PB2. I ate real quick and then got
dressed for the gym, strapping on my Garmin heartrate monitor strap, since I’d
be doing the running first. Then, I grabbed my 2 water bottles (1 with
Gatorade for the run and 1 with water for the gym) and headed out the door.
I arrived
at the gym and got set up for my run. I ran a mile and a half out and
then back to my car. When I got back to the car, exchanged my Gatorade
bottle for my water bottle and grabbed my purse and headed into the gym.
Today was just the 2x4’s so my workout only took me a little over 20 minutes to
complete. It was biceps/forearms/legs/abs today. Between the run
and the strength training, I had a calorie burn of over 500. YAY!
If I had just done the gym without the run, I wouldn’t even have burned 200
because it’s the short workout week.
Next week,
I’ll be doing 3x12’s at the gym, so I’ll only do a 2 mile run to start myself
off when I arrive at the gym. The week after next, I’ll do a 1.5 mile run
to start off my gym visits as it’ll be 4x25’s in the gym. I just did the
math, if I stick to the running before my gym workouts, I will add 18 miles to
my monthly mileage total…WOW! I like that. That will put me at a
minimum of 132 miles for the month if I stick with it (which I fully intend to
do)
On to my
eating. I ate my usual multigrain waffles with PB2 and a banana for
breakfast. When I got home from the gym, I had my protein powder with
almond milk. Around 4:30pm, I ate my cottage cheese with peaches in light
syrup. At around 6:30pm, I ate my 0% plain Greek yogurt with mixed fruit
and granola (with 2 stevia packets). My bell peppers weren’t gross today,
so I actually ate them…at about 8pm.
I had
planned to go home and eat a grilled turkey burger patty with some avocado
smooshed on top of it. However, my plans
were foiled. When the night shift
supervisor came in, she asked me if I would stay and work for her because she
was short a person. I, of course, said
yes. I just can’t say no to that extra
$190 (after taxes). It means no running
tomorrow, though. I’ll do tomorrow’s 8
mile run Thursday morning instead, then a little 3 mile run and the gym Friday morning
and my 6.5 mile run (supposed to be Friday) on Saturday. It’ll all work out. So, instead of the grilled turkey burger
patty with avocado for dinner, I’ll be getting either a roasted chicken half
with veggies or meatloaf with veggies. I
haven’t decided yet.
