Hobbies!
Here’s how it works: you copy the questions, answer them and post them
to your own blog. Then you come back here, and in the comments, post the
link to your blog post with your answers to this week’s questions. If you
don’t have a blog of your own, just post your answers in the comments.
1. What do you do for fun?
Running, scrapbooking (about my running…haha),
cooking/baking, hang out with friends whenever possible
2. What do you do to relax?
Write blog posts, run, scrapbook, sew, cook/bake.
3. What do you do to waste time?
Peruse the internet, watch tv, sleep too much (ha!)
4. What hobbies do you have that you do regularly?
Scrapbooking (most frequently about my running), sewing, and
cooking/baking
5. Is your hobby something that could make you
money?
The sewing, yes. I
make pixie/fairy skirts for my renaissance festival costumes. I’ve had numerous people approach me about
buying them.
6. Do you make money from your hobby? Or would you like to?
Not currently, but my current idea for when I retire is to
sew pretty much full time and sell the skirts plus other renaissance
festival inspired items online and at a
few festivals.
7. Do friends or family make fun of your hobby?
Nope, they actually think it’s pretty cool.
8. Is your hobby expensive, moderate, or free to support?
I’d say moderate because the cost of the supplies isn’t
really all that much, but the time I have to put into each item actually sewing
it is where the cost of the item actually falls when I do go to start selling
them as a business after I retire (or maybe a few years before I retire to just
get the ball rolling).
9. How did you first get started with your hobby?
I actually safety pinned a bunch of pieces of fabric to a
mini skirt I had to make a gothic fairy costume. I started going to the renaissance festivals
more often and decided I wanted more of the skirts and in various colors, so I
made I happen! I now have 9 or 10 skirts
in different colors that I pair with matching knee high boots and corsets (that
I buy from a vendor in Spring, TX called Casta Diva).
10. Is your hobby something that you can do with other
people? If so, do you?
I suppose I could.
But we’d take up so much room with both of us cutting fabric, pinning it
and then sewing it.
Here are my responses! This was a good one!

I'm late this week!
ReplyDeleteRen faire costumes are so pretty! I don't know about other ones, but at the Michigan Faire, they put pretty high price tags on some of their outfits! You might be onto something!
