This week,
I ran 26.3 miles. That’s a
marathon! Sure, it took me 4 days of
running to log in marathon miles, but I did it!
That’s the most miles I’ve run in one week so far. And I feel good. Running those 3 days in a row at the beginning
of the week really made me feel on top of the world and like I could really do
anything I put my mind to. It makes me
feel truly empowered.
Today I had
6.5 miles scheduled. I went on
MapMyRun.com yesterday to see about where my turn around point should be and
came up with a route that was 6.8 miles long.
Good. I like logging a little
extra on the mileage if I can. Well,
there was trail construction and I had to take a detour through the adjoining
neighborhood. By the time I got back to
my apartment complex, I had run 7.2 miles.
Nice! Today’s run was a little
slower than my usual due to high winds. There
was a few times I was chugging uphill into a headwind. I was going as slow as 11:30 per mile as a
result of the headwind. I don’t know my
mile times as I got home just in time to hop in the shower and get ready for
work. No time to download my Garmin data
until after work tonight.
I’m
working overtime tomorrow night on the overnight shift (10pm – 6am). Sunday morning I have my appointment for the
American Cancer Society study I signed up to participate in at the expo for the
Capital 10K at 8:30am. I figure I’ll
have time to do a workout between getting out of work and needing to be at that
appointment. I will most likely go for a
quick 4 mile run to wake myself up a little bit. Also, extra miles if I do that…woohoo! Then, after my appointment, I’m going to go
out to lunch with my friend Denise and then hang out with her for a few hours
before heading home. Then, at that time,
I’ll head to the gym and do my strength training
(chest/shoulders/triceps). I’ll just
take my gym clothes with me so I can go straight to the gym.
