Went and bought my new bicycle today after I hit the
gym! Woohoo! I’m hoping to ride it for the first time this
Saturday morning. I’m just going to do
the 16.8 mile route I’ve been doing. I want
to get a good feel for the bike before I try any longer runs. Also, I want to see how the seat that it came
with works for my butt.
Check it out! Speed
releases are awesome! I can take the
wheels off and it fits perfectly in the “trunk” of my VW New Beetle! Hooray!
It took me minute to remember how to put the back
wheel back on. Haha! But, I figured it out and voila! New bicycle, ready to ride! I took the reflectors off the handlebars and
the seat post. I moved my headlight from
my old bike to the new one. I also moved
my little under-the-seat pouch from the old to new bike. And I have a clip on tail light if I need to
ride at night
Oh,
and in case you can’t tell from the pictures, it has a road bike frame and
wheels, but the straight handlebars of a mountain bike. Also, the shifters are phenomenal as they are
ratchet shifters, so it makes for really smooth and easy shifting.
There
was a full-on road bike that was almost $100 less than this bike. And it was yellow, a preferred color for
me. However, it did not have speed
releases (I would have had no choice but to buy a bike rack too put on the back
of my car) and it did not have the ratchet shifters. So, it wasn’t even an option for me at that
point.
Something
I want to get to install on the new bike are those triathlon arm rest
bars. I can pick up this pair online for
$50. Nice!
