Friend Making Monday + the Countdown

I'm down to 97 days now!

If you follow me on Facebook, then you know I'm participating in a "100 miles in September" challenge.  If I follow the run schedule I've laid out for myself for my marathon training, then I will MORE than hit that 100 mile goal.  Here's some stats so far for this month.
• I have ran 6 out of the last 8 days
• As of today, I have ran 36.5 miles this month, so I'm over 1/3 of the way to the 100 mile goal
• If I stick with my schedule, I will hit 100 miles during my 15th run of this month

Over the weekend, after my 10K on Saturday, I started having occasional spasms in my left calf.  I think that was in part due to the amount of hills (and therefore more engaging of my calf muscles) in the 10K and also due to the fact I didn't stretch my legs when I got home from the 10K.  Yesterday the spasms were really bad, almost interrupting my run.  I didn't stop when they would happen, just limped through them.  I would just use acupressure on the spot of the spasm until I gave in slipped on a pair of my compression calf sleeves.  The compression caused them to slow down in frequency until they finally just stopped happening.  Which is good because I was about to take a muscle relaxer.

And now onto this week's Friend Making Monday questions:

1. Would you rather go without television or fast food for the rest of your life?
fast food.  I wish I could give it up now but I just can’t seem to get away from it.

2. Would you rather have permanent diarrhea or permanent constipation?
believe it or not, I’d rather have permanent diarrhea.  I won’t go into the reasons why.

3. Would you rather be handsome/beautiful and dumb or be ugly and really smart?
ugly and smart.  I can always learn how to wear makeup to make myself more appealing looking

4. Would you rather be always be cold or always be hot?
always cold.  I’m a runner and I love running in the cold. Also I prefer to sleep in the cold and just pile blankets on myself.

5. Would you rather be deaf or blind?
deaf.  I can do without hearing things but I can’t do without seeing them.  Also, maybe I could get a cochlear implant and be able to hear again.  Plus, I’ve always wanted to learn how to speak sign language.

6. Would you rather eliminate hunger and disease or be able to bring lasting world peace?
eliminate hunger and disease.  While world peace would be great, our military personnel would then be unnecessary, so they’d be disbanded and all those people would be without jobs…and then, once our military is disbanded the secret Al Quaeda-Taliban-ISIS people will attack and take over and we’ll be defenseless against them.

7. Would you rather be stranded on a deserted island alone or with someone you don't like?
with someone I didn’t like.  We can learn to get along.

8. Would you rather see the future or change the past?
change the past…but nothing major, just little, stupid decisions I made

9. Would you rather be three inches taller or three inches shorter?
shorter.  Am I weird?

10. Would you rather wrestle a lion or fight a shark?
a lion goes in for the kill while the shark just bites you apart piece by piece, so I’m going to go with lion.  I’ll die faster and suffer less.

  1. Interesting questions. I'd go the opposite way on number 7 because I imagined someone I don't like who is also incompetent. I just asked one of my coworkers that question (stranded alone or with our secretary), and she also picked alone.
