Friday,
I bought Zumba Rush for the Xbox Kinect. I love it. Best $40 I’ve
spent in a while. Seriously. It’s soooo much fun! I burn pretty much
the same amount of
calories in 45 minutes that I do when I run/walk on the treadmill for
38 minutes. It doesn’t feel like a workout which makes it a perfect
workout for my day 7 each week.
So,
today I was scheduled to work a partial shift of overtime at work. I
woke up at 5am (3 hrs earlier than my usual 8am wake up), took a shower,
ate breakfast and
packed my food and water for the whole day. I get to work and about 15
minutes after I show up, I get a phone call telling me “oops, it’s a
holiday, we don’t actually need you. We’ll pay you for 2 hours for
showing up but you can go home.” While I’m bummed
about losing a few hours of overtime pay, I’m happy cuz I got to
workout today whereas otherwise I would have taken today as a rest day
due to just plain not having the time to workout.
If
I can manage to stick to my meal plans and my workout routine this
week, I hope to see another 2-3 lb loss on Sunday. I really want to
lose 7 more lbs by the end
of the month, but so long as I’m below 180, I’ll be happy. So, really,
as long as I lose at least 3 more lbs by the end of the month, I’ll be
good with my progress. The way I figure it, I’m pushing myself pretty
good when I’m lifting weights and lifting
as much as I can stand to lift without hurting myself, so I’m sure I’m
gaining muscle on top of losing fat.
Everyone
is starting to notice my weight loss more and more each day. I work in
law enforcement so I wear what is called a “duty belt.” That’s what
you put a radio
pouch and gun holster on. Anyway, mine is so loose that one of my
co-workers suggested I could hula hoop with my duty belt!
Hahahahaha!!! Best compliment on my weight loss so far.
