This
morning I got up after only hitting snooze a couple times and was out of bed
shortly after 7:30am. I started my coffee and sat down to scroll through
Facebook. After about 20 minutes, I made my oatmeal with almond milk and
ate a banana. At about 8:30 I headed out the door and on my way to the
gym. When I got there, I put my purse away in the locker. I was
sans music today because I plugged my iPod into the wrong port and it wasn’t
charged and I wasn’t going to wear my cellphone on an armband for a gym
workout. Too bulky.
So,
I head over to the area next to the trainers’ area and get set up for the first
group of exercises in “The Paige Workout” (single leg squats on the Arix pad,
the step up series, the front squat w/press, and the box jumps). I did
all 3 sets. Wow. Kicked my behind is what it did. I was
POURING sweat by the time I got done with the first group of exercises. I
felt so accomplished when I finished too. Then I moved onto the second
group of exercises. Not so heartpumping as the first group. Except
for the wide to narrow jump squats. Everything else in the second group
is pretty tame, but that doesn’t mean they’re easy exercises. No, sir.
Because they weren’t. I had to keep proper (or as close to it as I could
get myself to it) form. And then on the single leg hamstring curls, I had
to do a slow count of 3 going down AND up. I burned over 700 calories in
the workout.
Tomorrow
is a rest day and I’m pretty sure I’m going to need it after this
morning. I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be difficult for me to walk
tomorrow. Haha! That just means it was a great workout,
right?!?! I think I said this yesterday, but Paige told me to come talk
to her when these exercises become easy for me. Ha! I told her it
would be a while before that happened.
Oh, when I was talking about
the SHRED diet yesterday, I said something about still needing to figure out
the spacing for the meals…well, here’s a guideline they published in the book:
Obviously, these times they suggest won't necessarily work for me because I'm not always up at 8:30am. But, I can just use it as a guideline for how often I should be eating my meals and snacks. I've known for some time now that it is better to eat more earlier in the day and taper off as the day goes on...which is why this is perfect that it ends the day with a snack and not a meal.
Superb blog............!
