A Little Comparison

Okay, wow, sorry, 3 posts in one day.  This is the last one for today, I promise!  So, today’s run was FANTASTIC!!  I felt great and strong and not tired even in the slightest.  My original plan was to run 7 miles, however at mile 4 I noticed my average pace was getting faster as opposed to the usual dropping off.  So, I thought, maybe I’ll run 8?  Then I was like, nooo, that’s silly, I don’t want to run 8, I’ll just run 7 like I planned.  Then, I got to mile 4.5 and was like, wellmaybe I can run 7.5.  Yea, I’ll run 7.5.  Then, I was like, well, I can go to the turnaround for my 8 mile route and I can always stop when I get to mile 7.5 if I want to.  I fully gave myself permission to stop and walk any time after I reached the 7 mile mark.  Mile 7 came and went and I was still going strong.  I finished with my final time being over 7 minutes faster than the 8 miles I ran last Sunday.  What a difference!  That’s a HUGE difference!  I’m very happy with the end result of today’s run.  I felt like I could run forever today.  I really did.  In fact, I *briefly* toyed with the idea of doing 9 miles.  Yea, you read that right.  I decided against it for now though.  9 miles will come soon enough, but I’m not looking to make that bump in mileage before the middle of next month.  But I think my body’s ready for it and can handle it just fine.

This week:

Last week:
Last week’s mile times were as slow as 12 minutes per mile (don’t mind the last .76 mile, that was walking).  This week’s fastest was 9:45 and that wasn’t even my first mile, that was my FOURTH mile!!!  Told you I was feeling great on today’s run!
