OMG OMG OMG OMG
OMG!!! So, I went on my first run using
my Garmin this morning. I was going to
just run my current usual 5.5 miles. At
about mile 4, I decided why not see if I can go ahead and run a full 10K (6.2
miles, just in case you didn’t already know that). Well…guess
what! I did it! And I maintained a sub-10 minute mile pace
too! 9:55 minute/mile to be exact! I completed the 6.2 miles in 1 hour and just
shy of 2 minutes. And my Garmin said I burned
906 calories. Compared to what my Polar
said I was burning on my other runs; that seems pretty accurate. I’m VERY happy with my Garmin. Sure, it was more than I originally wanted to
spend, but I believe it’s a good investment as far as my running career goes.
I’ve now burned
my entire minimum calorie burn goal for the week and it’s only Wednesday. I have a goal to burn a minimum of 3000
calories each week. I usually burn more
than my goal. For instance, last week I burned
over 4200 and the week before I burned only 3200. I have a feeling that this week will be AT
LEAST the same as last week. This is
good considering my indulgence this past weekend.
Oh! Got my new bicycle seat in the mail
yesterday! I’ll change out my seats Saturday
morning after the CrossFit class I’m attending.
I’m also planning to do that boot camp class again at my new gym Saturday
morning and then! You guessed it, I’m
hoping to do at least a 2 hour bicycle ride after that. I just checked and I do have a spare tube on
my bike, just in case I get a flat. I’ll
wear my Garmin for the ride too. I want
to check my bicycle computer against how far Garmin says I’ve ridden. If it’s basically the same, then in the
future I’ll probably just wear my Polar HRM, but we’ll see.
