Allergies and a Rest Day

So, today I was supposed to run the 5 miles I had planned to run yesterday but couldn’t because I worked a double shift at work instead.  My allergies have been making me feel like crap for the last couple days and today was no exception.  I slept most of the day on the couch and when I woke up, I felt all jittery and light-headed, so after much debate with myself, I decided to just not run today.  The good news is that I will be well rested for my 9 mile run tomorrow!  I figure I will just try to make up the 5 mile run next week sometime.  Like run next Friday’s run on Thursday and then fit in a 5 miler next Saturday.  That way, I’ll still get all my planned miles for this month and won’t feel like I short changed myself.

Tomorrow, I’m going to pin a bib to my shirt when I run.  I probably won’t pass a whole lot of people on my run, but I want to wear it anyway.  It’s the “We are all Boston Marathoners at heart” bib in the yellow and blue of the Boston.

Also, you will notice that I did not weigh in today.  I’ve decided to take a break from the scale for the rest of April.  I haven’t gained or lost even a 10th of a pound for the last month.  So, I’m taking a step back and am just going to focus on eating right and getting in my daily exercise.  Also, the past couple weeks I’ve worked a LOT of overtime and have not eaten well the whole time.  I don’t have any money to buy junk food next week, so I have no choice but to stick to my food plans for the whole week.  And that means I’ll be eating healthy all week long!  YAY!
