Went on a nice,
easy 4 mile run this morning. Well…it was supposed
to be easy, but it turned into a smidge of a struggle. At least at the beginning it was a struggle
because of the muscle spasm still happening in my lower back. Overall I was able to average just shy of an
11 minute/mile pace, which is what I had planned to do. I’m pretty sure that if I had gone to the
doctor for the muscle spasm he would have told me to lay off ALL exercise, and
probably especially running, for at least a week. But, I think the run actually did my back
good. My back isn’t as tender or painful
as it was before I went for my run. I think
the run loosened all the muscles up. Now,
of course, that doesn’t mean I recommend going for a run if YOU have a muscle
spasm in your lower back. A smart person
would have gone to the doctor and/or rested for a week until the spasm went
away.
